I've had this in my mind since the wedding but forgot to post it

At the wedding earlier this month, I sat and talked to Zoa, the little flower girl who is absolutely adorable. She was reading a diary of a princess but was kind of being fussy, as a third grader is wont to do. I teased her a bit and said that's not how a princess would behave.

"But I don't WANT to be a princess!" she said.
"Well, what do you want to be?" I asked.
"It's kind of embarrassing.."
"I won't laugh," I promised.
"Well..." and she took a deep breath, "I want to be a karate master."
"Really?" I said, and blinked. Not many girls want to be karate masters when they're in the third grade. "What made you want to become that?"
"Mulan," she stated. "But my mom won't let me. She says that I have too much to do. I have Irish dancing, piano, violin, and sometimes girl scouts."
"Maybe when you're older your mom will let you."
"I hope so. I used to have this bamboo stick and I would play in the back yard going 'Hai-YAH!, hai-YAH!'" She accompanied this with punches and slashed in the air. Then her shoulders sagged, "But I can't find the stick anymore."

I have to say - finally, Disney has done something right. I hope that her mom will relent and she'll finally get to take some classes when she's older. I think young Zoa would definitely be a forced to be reckoned with.
